Staff Accountant

Cordova, TN | Onsite

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

• $30–$32/hour

• 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday

• W2 Employment

ROLE IMPACT: Join the finance team of a respected nonprofit during a pivotal period of internal transition. This Staff Accountant role ensures continuity of critical AR and bookkeeping functions, supporting financial accuracy and regulatory compliance to keep operations running smoothly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger and accounts payable records

• Generate balance sheets, income statements, and other key financial reports

• Match records to bank statements to identify and resolve discrepancies

• Support audits by preparing documentation and ensuring ledger accuracy

• Assist in budget planning, forecasts, and process improvements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 3 years’ experience in accounting required

• Proficiency in general ledger and financial processing workflows

• High attention to detail; ability to prioritize competing deadlines

• Must demonstrate cultural alignment and integrity in a mission-driven setting

CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS

• Microsoft Excel required

• QuickBooksPro or equivalent accounting software required

• Standard office equipment (printers, scanners, calculators)

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Background in nonprofit or educational finance

• Experience in faith-based workplace settings

• Familiarity with audit prep or compliance processes
