Job Description and Duties

As the Support Technician in our Business Services Section, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly. In this role, you’ll support the section by handling a variety of semi-professional analytical and administrative tasks. You’ll manage and safeguard confidential documents, prepare professional correspondence such as memorandums and reports, maintain tracking logs, and coordinate requests across the organization. You’ll regularly use Microsoft Office tools—including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Teams—to stay organized and communicate effectively.

You’ll also serve as a key connection point between the Business Services Section and department-wide staff. As the first point of contact for customers, you’ll respond to inquiries through multiple channels, provide helpful guidance, and ensure requests are routed and resolved efficiently. Working Conditions

At FI$Cal, we currently offer a remote-centered position with the flexibility of telework up to three days per week. In-office attendance is mandatory on designated days and is subject to change. Our office is located at 2000 Evergreen Street, Sacramento, CA. Candidates residing outside of California are welcome to interview, but proof of California residency is required before appointment. Please note, relocation and commute expenses are the responsibility of the employee.

This position requires prolonged sitting in an office-setting environment with the use of a personal computer. Employees must demonstrate a commitment to maintain a working environment free from discrimination and sexual harassment. All staff must maintain regular, consistent, predictable attendance, maintain good working habits and adhere to all policies and procedures.

Special Requirements

  • The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.

  • This position requires the ability to work under pressure to meet.
  • The incumbent is expected to perform functions and duties under the guidance of the Department of FISCal’s core values.
  • The incumbent provides back-up, as necessary, to ensure continuity of departmental activities.
  • This position may require the use of a hand-cart to transport documents and/or equipment over 20 pounds.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

  • Experience providing Customer Service in a professional setting
  • Working experience using Microsoft software applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Experience working with a service ticketing system
  • Clerical experience
  • Experience supporting Business Services operations or similar facility management functions
  • Experience managing office supplies
  • Strong proficiency in verbal and written communication
