Job Description

Liberty Community Programs is looking for a dedicated and skilled Sewage Plant Operator to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of our sewage treatment plant, ensuring that all processes comply with local regulations and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in sewage treatment operations and a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and control plant operations to ensure proper sewage treatment and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Perform routine inspections of equipment and plants; troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Collect and analyze water samples, recording results and preparing reports for regulatory agencies.
• Maintain accurate records of plant operations, including flow rates and chemical usage.
• Ensure safety regulations are followed and participate in safety training programs.
• Assist in the maintenance of equipment and machinery, making minor repairs when necessary.
• Respond to emergencies and provide on-call support as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid Class C Wastewater Certification in West Virginia.

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training or certification is a plus.
• Previous experience as a sewage plant operator or in a similar role is preferred.
• Familiarity with wastewater treatment methods and equipment operation.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for sampling and reporting.
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and working in various weather conditions.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance standards
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Salary: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
