Senior Network Engineer | Midvale, UT

Nexeo HR is hiring a highly skilled Network Engineer in Midvale, Utah. In this role, you’ll design, implement, maintain, and monitor enterprise-class network environments, including data center switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers. The ideal candidate is an experienced IT professional with expertise in LAN/WAN, VPNs, network security, and enterprise networking protocols who thrives in building reliable, scalable, and high-performance network systems. Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available network solutions across data centers, branches, and cloud environments.
• Lead or participate in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new networking technologies and tools.
• Collaborate with peers to define long-term objectives and modernization strategies for the network infrastructure.
• Develop and contribute to automation efforts using tools such as Python, Ansible, or Terraform to streamline recurring network tasks.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and act as an escalation point for critical incidents.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in a network engineering role.
• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting data center networks in Spine-Leaf topologies using VXLAN and EVPN with Cisco Nexus infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of advanced routing protocols, particularly BGP and OSPF.
• Proven experience with cloud-managed network solutions (e.g., Cisco Meraki) including SD-WAN, switches, and wireless.
• Proficiency in network automation and scripting using Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with infrastructure technologies such as virtualization, containerization, load balancing, DDoS protection, and security.
• Industry certifications such as CCNP or CCIE.
• Experience designing and supporting cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with network monitoring and performance tools (SolarWinds, Grafana, Prometheus, Wireshark, etc.).

Pay

• $75 per hour (based on experience)

Shift/Schedule

• Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
