Job Summary

*This position is fully on-site, no option for remote*

**Candidates need to have experience in grant writing.**

This position is responsible for writing and applying for research specific grants to support unfunded or under-funded initiatives of the Research Institute. Collaborates with clinicians, researchers, grant agencies, regulatory bodies, finance, business, legal and other services to ensure timely and accurate grant applications and tracking. Assists with independent research writing and development of protocols, consents, grant proposals and dissemination of new knowledge. Specializes in clinical research nursing activities and trial coordination, demonstrating familiarity with IRB submission process and review, consent of research patients, and study related interventions.

Required Qualifications

- Require a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or higher.
- Require a minimum of three (3) years of relevant clinical experience , preferably in a nurse capacity, as well as, one (1) year of research or grant writing experience.
- Require Human Subject Protection Training and Good Clinical Practice documentation (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire).

Preferred Qualifications

- Prefer certification in Research or related national certification.
- Prefer demonstrated attention to detail, self-motivation, and ability to work alone with a commitment to long-term objectives.
- Prefer demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of current systems and software programs used at SMHCS.
- Prefer demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills in interactions with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Prefer demonstrated effective grant writing skills with experience submitting grant applications.
- Prefer effective verbal and writing skills to assist with protocol development, publications, posters, presentations, and more.
- Prefer previous background in clinical research coordination.

Required License and Certs

BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License
