POSITION SUMMARY

Upholds the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the company. The primary responsibilities of the Rental Specialist position are to assist other rental specialists, maintain helpful customer service, process sales quickly, accurately, and efficiently, and perform rental department operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist other rental specialists
  • Ensure each customer receives outstanding service which follows the S.A.L.E.S process and the mystery shop standards
  • Greet customers
  • Tactfully and pleasantly deal with customers
  • Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements
  • Maintain orderly appearance of register area and stock supplies
  • Solicit customers to open an Ace Rewards card
  • Issue receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers
  • Report Point of Sale problems to Manager
  • Ensure that merchandise displays in the checkout area are clean, organized, and well-stocked
  • Answer incoming phone calls
  • Provide rental rates and quotes
  • Ability to learn small engine repair, hunting and fishing licenses, screen repair, STIHL sales and repairs, UPS shipping, and key cutting
  • Write and maintain daily contract file, rental reservation file, and customer change file
  • Check rentals in and out each day
  • Schedule pick-up and delivery of rental equipment
  • Maintain inventory on merchandise, showroom displays, and parts

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Education/Training: High School student, High School diploma or GED
  • Experience in a retail environment either in rental, cashier, sales, or back office
  • A commitment to service, excellence, and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to process information and/or merchandise through register system
  • Ability to communicate with associates and customers
  • Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills with a strong willingness to learn
  • Knowledge of retail computer systems and electronic cash registers
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs frequently to stock, load and unload customer orders
  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time
  • Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, ability to multitask, positive motivation, helpful service, high attention to detail, and team player
  • Excellent quantitative and computer skills. Analytical and pricing knowledge with the ability to conduct comparison analysis and make sound decisions

 

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • The minimum training requirements for this position in the first 90 days include:
  • Ace Learning Place beginning courses
  • Epicor Training POS basics courses
  • Propane certification (if applicable)
  • Forklift certification (if applicable)
  • Service Center training
