The Level 3 Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) provides skilled nursing care to patients in the Labor & Delivery unit. This role involves assessing patient conditions, implementing care plans, administering medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The RN must be capable of recognizing and responding to emergency situations, providing patient and family education, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' clinical conditions, identifying and interpreting serious situations and taking appropriate action.
- Formulate nursing diagnoses to provide care for patients across the life span, including medical, surgical, psychiatric, and obstetrical patients.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on patient interviews, health records, and identified needs.
- Initiate appropriate measures in emergency situations, such as cardiac or respiratory arrest.
- Operate and monitor general and specialized emergency care equipment.
- Administer therapeutic measures as prescribed by the physician, including medications and IV therapy.
- Plan, provide, and document patient and family teaching in preventative, curative, and rehabilitative measures.
- Record observations, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures, and coordinated activities.
- Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes and update the plan of care.
- Document specific health care requirements and prepare written assignments for team members.
- Assume oversight for patient care administered by licensed practical nurses and unlicensed personnel.
- Provide technical guidance, delegation, and direction to other registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and unlicensed personnel.
- Share responsibilities for sustaining adequate supplies and equipment and maintaining a safe environment.
- Maintain knowledge and competency in current nursing practice and promote professional growth.
- Adhere to and promote professional, ethical, and legal standards of nursing.
- Maintain positive work habits, interpersonal skills, and public relationships.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active RN License
- Minimum of 3 years of experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet pre-employment credentialing clearances (Background Check and Drug Screen)
- Ability to meet physical demands (stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl), and lift up to 50lbs
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Post-Partum experience
Special Considerations:
- Must work 3 shifts per week
- Every Other Weekend (EOW)
- Holidays as needed
Scheduling:
- Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
