Job Description

The Sonnenalp Hotel is looking for AM and PM houseman.

Application Deadline: Hiring will occur on a rolling basis. Applications will be accepted until December 15th or until the positions are filled.
Wage: $20.00/hour

Typical Schedule: (AM Shift) 8:00am - 4:30pm, (PM Shift) 2:30pm - 11:00pm

Primary Purpose of Position

To clean and maintain the common areas assigned throughout the hotel and assist in all areas related to housekeeping. Ensure that the room attendant carts are stocked with supplies and remove dirty linens. Deliver guest requests, anticipate and address their service needs and thank them with genuine appreciation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure closets are stocked with linens for the current day and/or for the next day
• Respond promptly to requests from guests and Supervisors
• Deliver guest requests and set up furniture items in guest rooms as requested
• Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms
• Remove items from hallways and transport to service areas, including debris, room service food and beverage trays, unread newspapers, soiled linens, and trash from the Housekeeper carts
• Transport all dirty linens to the laundry and continuously re-stock the Room attendant’s carts throughout the day
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
• Support the Housekeeping team to reach common goals
• Clean, maintain, and store cleaning equipment
• Clean windows, balconies and staircases assigned
• Vacuum the hallways and ensure cleanliness by the end of the shift
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects without assistance
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors and/or Managers

Education/Experience

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Prior hotel experience preferred
• Cleaning experience preferred but not required

Special Skills/Equipment

• Basic spoken English
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Ability to work as part of a team

Essential Physical Requirements

This role involves demanding physical abilities including but not limited to:

• Must be able to stand for duration of shift
• Ability to kneel, bend, crawl
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals
• This is a physically demanding job requiring frequent walking, standing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching and lifting objects less than 50 lbs, pushing objects up to 100 lbs.
