Hexagon Autonomous Solution comprises of three divisions: Agriculture, Autonomy & Positioning and Mining – Providing a breadth of perception, positioning, vehicle autonomy and site orchestration technologies to enable the full autonomous solutions for the agriculture, mining, automotive and marine sectors.

Mining: Our mining technologies provide surveying, design, fleet management, production optimisation and collision avoidance capabilities in a single, life-of-mine solution that connects people and processes, reduces costs and improves the safety and productivity of mine sites.

The Position: Reporting to the Field Regional Service & Support Manager you will join our Technical Services & Support Division for our APAC region which spans across multiple countries in the Asia Pacific. We have an office in Newcastle and support mining clients across the NSW region.

In this role your key focus will be on site service support for our clients across product installations and maintenance support. This role has a roster pattern that will vary depending on assignment across the following, not limited to roster patterns; M-F / 7:7 / 8:6. This is either FIFO or DIDO based on assignment location. International rosters may vary depending on assignment requirements.

Key duties and responsibilities are inclusive but not limited to;

• Operational : Ensure Hexagon Mining technology solutions at client mine sites operate effectively and deliver tangible value to their mining operations
• Customer Service : Provide training, instruction and advice to our customers on the effective use and operation of Hexagon Mining technology solutions
• Technical : Repair, install, configure, commission and support electronic, microprocessor-based systems and radio communications equipment including issue identification and resolution for equipment based on our customer mine sites and on HxGN’s premises

About you

We are looking for an experienced Field Technician who is ready for the next step in their career, in a role that creates a pathway working with an industry leader in advanced and progressive technology, supporting multiple clients. If you are an experienced Automotive Electrician or Communications Technician keen to work in a dynamic environment with industry leading technology across a broad client base, this is the role for you!

In addition we are seeking those with the following qualifications and skills;

Required

• Trade certificate or equivalent in Auto Electrician, Electronics, Industrial Electronics, Instrumentation or Communications
• Experience in industries such as electronics, radio, television, automotive, mining or similar
• Prior experience in on site installation, system configuration, commissioning, troubleshooting and repair of technology hardware or systems within mobile plant equipment or industrial automotive vehicles.
• Manual car drivers’ licence
• Australian working rights: Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen
• Ability to work independently or within a team-based environment, building strong interpersonal relations
• Customer centric & solution focused approach to problem solving, skilled in agility and adaptability
• Critical Thinking, ability to customise installations where required.

Desirable

• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing electronics systems Substantial demonstrated experience in supporting, diagnosing and troubleshooting diverse and varied environments with a focus on electronic / electrical repairs
• Prior exposure to CAS or FMS system installation within mining equipment
• Prior experience installing hardware equipment in Surface Mining equipment/heavy industry would be desirable
• Basic knowledge / understanding of LANs, WANs, working with Linux OS Command Line Interface(desirable)
• Good computing skills (firmware and software loading and management, troubleshooting, administration tasks and email)
