• Clinical Shift Schedule: 6a–6p and 6p–6a (24-hour single physician coverage)

• Patient Volume/Census: 13,368 annual visits; approx. 38 patients/day
• Admissions: 11%
• Case Mix: General Emergency Medicine
FACILITY INFORMATION
• Facility: 5 ED beds
• Trauma Level: Level 3
• EMR System: Ochsner Epic
• Specialty Backup Available: OB/GYN, Peds, Ortho, IM, Radiology, FP, Surgery (transfers to 2 locations)
• Support Staff Available: NP/PA coverage 10a–10p daily
• Reason for Coverage: Full-time need for 3 physicians (45 shifts/month)

REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• General Emergency Medicine procedures
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Active LA License
• Certifications:
• BC ABEM or BC/BE IM/FM
• ACLS, ATLS, PALS required if not Board Certified in EM
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of Emergency Medicine experience for non-EM trained
• Other Qualifications: Flu and required immunizations (waiver not accepted); must be residency trained
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide emergency medical care during assigned shifts
• Work independently with support from mid-level APP staff during daytime hours
• Participate in orientation and EMR training prior to first shift
• Collaborate with specialty services for consultation and transfer coordination
