The Amazon North America Creative team is responsible for crafting bold, efficient, and breakthrough marketing content to reach and resonate with today's audience. We aspire to meet customers wherever they may be—on social media, on their phones and devices, across the site, in their inboxes—and provide easy ingresses to the site via beautiful, inclusive, inspiring, and innovative content. This role focuses on unifying all campaigns through a flexible system, building on-brand seasonal playbooks and overseeing the implementation. The system includes guidelines for color, font weight, design, and photography across all campaign and event executions, ensuring a consistent Amazon voice, look, and tone. The seasonal work will feature key categories and product. The leader will distill diverse input from large customer segments and stakeholders to set a vision, create a strategy, and build consensus on priorities. As Sr. Creative Director, they'll help develop, drive, and distribute the evergreen system and seasonal guides through in-house training sessions and continue to refine the work based on performance metrics, customer insights, and marketing strategies.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop creative systems and templates across all platforms.
  • Create mechanisms to train team members and global partners on systems, templates, and automation.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners in UX and central marketing teams to implement scalable processes and systems across all customer touchpoints.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate emerging marketing and branding trends, as well as digital and GenAI innovations, into creative and marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate with leadership to audit efficiencies and productivity, ensuring continuous improvement over time.
  • Establish mechanisms and audit work to maintain consistent brand standards across customer-facing programs.
  • Scope projects and forecast resource needs with key stakeholders to prioritize and maximize resources, communicating needs and trade-offs as appropriate.
  • Proactively solve problems on behalf of the team and seek clarification when faced with ambiguity.
  • Mentor and develop in-house creative talent through design reviews, individual coaching, and ongoing learning opportunities.

About The Team

The Amazon North America Creative team is a multidisciplinary team, comprising creative directors, art directors, producers, visual designers, copywriters, stylists, and more. Our diverse group brings expertise in video, print, branding, and styling, with backgrounds spanning retail, tech, print and digital media, academia, and agency work. Above all else, our team culture is built around an environment of learning, experimentation, and inventing on behalf of the customer. Each day feels a little bit different on this team, as we create content for an exciting array of new brands, products, experiences, and features. In addition to highlighting premium brands, most loved, private labels, seasonal events and cultural moments, we also want to create a cohesive brand across all events whether on Amazon.com property or in paid media.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • A portfolio of Design, Branding, and Creative Marketing work.
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Retail digital design and/or eCommerce experience.
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with UX, product, and engineering teams.
  • Relentless desire for innovation, balanced with business and user interaction priorities.
  • Strong people management and coaching skills to drive the continuous evolution of creative processes.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and customer-centricity.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $230,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
