Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) – Denton, TX

Schedule: Weekends Required | 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
Additional Options: Weekday 3:00 PM–11:00 PM shifts available
Pay: $30 – $40/hour
A behavioral health program in the Denton area is seeking a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to provide structured clinical support for adolescent residents with dual diagnoses, behavioral instability, trauma-related needs, and crisis-stabilization requirements. This role is essential in maintaining a therapeutic, safe, and consistent treatment environment.
This PRN/part-time opportunity is ideal for nurses seeking additional hours, steady weekend shifts, and meaningful work within a growing behavioral health setting.
Provide therapeutic support, behavioral monitoring, and stabilization throughout the shift.
Administer medications and ensure timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
Conduct assessments, vitals, safety checks, and deliver appropriate nursing interventions.
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning with clinical and psychiatric staff.
Support crisis-prevention efforts and apply de-escalation techniques when necessary.
Maintain high standards of clinical documentation and compliance.
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure continuity and coordination of care.
Demonstrate calm, professional judgment during high-acuity or crisis situations.
Required
Active, unencumbered Texas RN license
Minimum 1 year of behavioral health, psychiatric, inpatient, or residential treatment nursing experience
Availability for PRN or part-time shifts with required weekend coverage
Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Ability to work confidently with adolescents in a structured treatment setting
Preferred
CPI, Handle With Care, or similar crisis-prevention certification
Experience with trauma-informed care principles
